Nutritional enhancer , Corteva has introduced a nutritional enhancer (Re-Up) designed to support crop resilience and productivity in soybean, corn, and cotton systems.
Nutritional enhancer Re-Up combines a mix of micronutrients—including zinc, manganese, and copper—formulated to strengthen plant physiology under stressful conditions. According to Corteva Agriscience, these nutrients support lignin production, reinforce antioxidant systems, and sustain key metabolic processes, such as protein synthesis and photosynthesis.
The solution is intended to help crops withstand both biotic and abiotic stresses, expands tolerance to drought, heat, and cold stress,When adverse conditions occur, the plant can recover more quickly. With proper management, this can translate into gains in productivity and profitability.
1. Strengthening plant defenses
Nutritional enhancer Re-Up strengthens both physical and biochemical plant barriers. Physical barriers can help reduce pathogen incidences, while biochemical responses improve tolerance to adverse soil and climate conditions.
Further, Nutritional enhancer Re-Up can be integrated into crop protection programs, alongside fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides.
2. Support against key crop stresses
In corn, Nutritional enhancer Re-Up is positioned as a tool to help plants cope with the effects of corn stunt disease, associated with mollicutes transmitted by the corn leafhopper. The disease can significantly reduce plant growth, shorten internodes, and cause leaf discoloration, often resulting in poorly filled ears and yield losses that may reach 70%.
Applications are recommended prior to the occurrence of stress and applied to the aerial part of the plant.
In soybeans, the micronutrient formulation is designed to support plant health in the presence of major diseases, such as Asian soybean rust, target spot, anthracnose, and white mold, as well as late-season diseases, including Cercospora leaf blight and purple seed stain.
3. Field trial results
Corteva reports positive yield responses in field trials conducted across several Brazilian regions. In soybean trials during the 2021/22 season, yield gains of up to 117 kg/ha were recorded. Additional tests conducted across 26 sites showed increases of up to 1.6 bags per hectare.
Further studies conducted with five consulting groups during the 2024/25 season reported yield increases of up to 3.2 bags per hectare.
In corn trials in Piracicaba in 2023, plants treated with Re-Up showed measurable growth improvements. Plant height increased by 23.8 cm, above-ground dry mass rose by 49.5%, and stalk diameter increased by 27.3%. Also, grain production per plant increased by 97.3% when applications were made before inoculation with the corn stunt pathogen.
Additional research conducted with Fundação MS in Maracaju during the 2024/25 season reported yield increases of up to 8.3 bags per hectare, with average productivity reaching 129.8 bags per hectare.
