TIS-390 Spray Silicone Adjuvant: Super-Spreading Silicone Surfactant for Enhanced Agrochemical Performance

Introduction

TIS-390 is a high-performance spray adjuvant based on a trisiloxane ethoxylate structure, designed to significantly enhance the effectiveness of agricultural chemical applications -1. As a super-spreading surfactant, it delivers performance far beyond conventional adjuvants, making it an essential tool for modern farming operations seeking to optimize crop protection and nutrition programs.

Key Product Features

Super-Spreading Performance

TIS-390 spray silicone adjuvant stands out for its remarkable ability to reduce surface tension. At a concentration of just 0.1 wt%, it achieves an aqueous surface tension of less than 22 mN/m -1. To put this in perspective, a conventional nonionic surfactant (octylphenol ethoxylate with 10 EO units) at ten times the concentration (1.0 wt%) achieves only 30 mN/m -1. This dramatic reduction in surface tension enables superior spreading and coverage of spray solutions on leaf surfaces.

Enhanced Agrochemical Uptake

The super-spreading properties of TIS-390 allow spray droplets to spread rapidly across leaf surfaces, reducing contact angles and significantly increasing spray coverage -1. Under favorable conditions, it promotes rapid absorption of agrochemicals into plant tissues through stomatal infiltration. Once absorbed in this manner, the active ingredients become rainfast, improving application reliability and reducing the need for reapplication -1.

Broad Compatibility

TIS-390 is nonionic in nature, making it compatible with a wide range of agrochemical formulations, including herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and plant growth regulators -1. Unlike some trisiloxane alkoxylates that can be negatively affected by oil-based formulation components (such as EC formulations or spray oils), TIS-390 demonstrates enhanced spreading performance even in these challenging formulations -1.

Recommended Usage

In Agrochemical Formulations:
Recommended dosage is 0.5–8% concentration based on the total formulation. The pH of the formulation should be maintained between 6-8 for optimal performance.

As a Tank-Mix Adjuvant:
Add 3.75–5g per 15kg water solution and spray evenly.

Product Advantages

  1. Low Surface Tension: Achieves better leaf coverage through super-spreading properties

  2. Excellent Penetration: Rapid uptake and absorption by plant tissues

  3. Cost-Effective: Reduces required pesticide amounts, saving costs and reducing environmental impact

  4. Rainfastness: Provides rainfastness, avoiding reapplication due to rain and allowing for more flexible spray scheduling

Applications

TIS-390 is suitable for use across a wide range of agricultural applications, including:

  • Tank-mix with herbicides

  • Fungicide formulations

  • Insecticide enhancement

  • Foliar fertilizer applications
